What is DHEA?
DHEA, produced by the adrenal glands, is a prohormone that converts into estrogen and testosterone in the body. A deficiency in DHEA can arise with fatigued adrenal glands or low hormone levels. DHEA production peaks in our twenties and gradually decreases with age. Therefore, DHEA is often regarded as a rejuvenation hormone, helping us maintain youthful vitality.
