Description of Candida Test
Test Yourself at Home for Candida
When talking about candida, it specifically refers to Candida albicans. Candida is a yeast that naturally exists in our intestines, among other places, and its role is to recognize and destroy harmful bacteria. Problems only arise when there's an overgrowth of the yeast. This overgrowth can occur after taking antibiotics, the accumulation of heavy metals, a weakened immune system, due to improper diet, stress, or after taking certain medications.
In the case of candida overgrowth, various toxins are created, which, in turn, can lead to a range of symptoms (see below). Some of the toxins produced include ethanol, acetaldehyde, and formaldehyde.
This is a simple test that you can perform on your own at home to see if you've been affected by overgrowth. The test involves a stool sample that you collect on your own at home.
